David has over 40 years of experience in the real estate business. Licensed as a broker in 1969, David managed a central Minnesota banks real estate department working with the banks clients regarding their financial and real estate needs. In 1972 David purchased the banks real estate department and opened two additional locations through out Central Minnesota. David added a general construction division to his companies developing housing and commercial projects. Was a leading member of the Association of Home Builders of Minnesota. During this period, David helped establish the Eastern Board of Realtors and created the first Multiple Listing Service in Central Minnesota. Membership grew to over 150 members during the 7 years David was board president.
In 1983 David sold his companies to a bank holding company and joined Merrill Lynch as a commercial real estate broker operating out of Minneapolis/St Paul, MN. Organizing their commercial division. Represented national and international clients in site development and finance.
David joined the World Trade Center Association in 1986 to help establish a commercial real estate network of international brokers operating out of their countries trade centers to develop and promote trade and development. Represented international and financial service companies in structuring projects in the United States and Mexico exceeding five million dollars or more.
In 1997 David formed the Americo Corporation, a real estate development company and partnered with Impulsora Sien, S.A. DE C.V., a Mexican construction company based in Chihuahua Mexico. Operated a building and design center in Chihuahua City promoting new green building systems. Worked closely with State and National government agencies in developing real estate projects in the Copper Canyon region of Mexico.
In order to maintain an active real estate brokers license in various states and countries during the past 40 years, David has attended on-going education courses in finance, real estate law, certified appraisal courses, marketing and management along with courses in international trade and development.
David and his wife Karen moved their family to Anacortes in 2003 to live and enjoy the beauty of the great Northwest. David has continued selling commercial real estate locally and has recently joined the Coldwell Banker Island Living team of professionals.
