Island Hospital is home to a highly sophisticated, 24-hour emergency room and Level III trauma center. Located in Anacortes, the hospital has state-of-the-art image scanning and nuclear medicine, intensive and coronary care units, a four-suite birth center, a 33-bed inpatient surgical unit, an outpatient FastTrack Surgery program, mammography and arteriography services with ultrasound, and helicopter service for trauma. More than 100 physicians and surgeons serve a full range of medical needs not only for residents or Anacortes and La Conner, but Island Hospital also provides support for the San Juan Islands.

Island Hospital has just completed a $40 million dollar expansion, with facilities for additional services. The organization has received national recognition for achievements in its innovative use of high technology and information systems.
